Active Schools:
As part of our actives schools, our school is going to try to run a mile with a smile in March. To help us with this we are going to go running with our teachers at set break times. On Wednesday Third class started by jogging around Cannons lane. Everybody enjoyed the jog. It was third classes favourite part of the day .When we got back from the run we all said it was great. We are going to try to do this every few weeks, so that we can complete our ‘Run A Mile With A Smile’! Pictures to followJ

Connolly and Garda cup

These group of boys  from 3rd,4th,5th and 6th took place in a Blitz in Clones and returned with a shield and medals.Winners all round at St.Tiarnach’s!
Gymnastics was our theme for this month in St.Tiarnach’s. The children had great fun learning some new routines and giving their classmates a wonderful gymnastics display!

What a  result!

St.Tiarnach’s were delighted this week when four boys from 6th class; Ryan Nolan, Kian Clerkin Andrew Mc Caughey and James Mc Cabe came back with a great result, from a skills competition in which 18 Primary Schools around Monaghan took part in.

There was four different parts to this competition:
1. A game of 4 a side football with emphasis on team play, which St.Tiarnachs won!
2. Kicking for point’s competition: Each player  had a number of kicks with both their left and right foot .The boys had a great result in this, with all of them giving some great foot work!
3.A game of football rounders- Yet again St.Tiarnach’s were the winning team.
4. Kicking accuracy: The boys scored the highest out of all the schools that took part.

At the end of the day the scores were added up for all of the competitions, and St.Tiarnach’s won the competition with the highest score beating the other 17 Schools that took part.
Great accomplishment for the boys!

A big congratulations boys.:) Come on St.Tiarnach’s!!!
